10 Useful Ways To Boost Your Confidence - Confidence is Freedom

Every one of us can relate to not feeling good enough or trying to avoid certain situations due to our fear or lack of confidence. Insecurities can cause us to miss out on amazing opportunities and experiences in life. Avoidance may be the easy way out, and you may feel amazing while doing it but it will hinder you in the long run. Earlier we wrote how to gain confidence, now here are 10 ways to boost your confidence, so you can get what you’re looking for from life. Hopefully you find these tips very useful because they have been proven by so many people around the world. It’s amazing what a few slight changes in your life can make. Think of these tips in terms of baby steps; if you rush through them, you are going to fall.

Pamper Yourself

Many of us forget how important it is to pamper ourselves. Enjoy that time in the mirror in the morning; spend a little more time on your makeup or doing your hair. This is a great bonding experience with your body. The more you see yourself and spend time with yourself the more confident you will become.

Flaunt What You’ve Got

After you’re ready for the day, be proud of your body. You only live once and there is only one of you. You are completely unique in this world. Flaunt it, feel it, love it. The world is yours. Own it. Even if you don’t believe it to begin with; the exterior confidence will internalized over time.

Listen To Your Instincts

Trust yourself. Don’t second guess. The more you stress over something, the more likely you are to over think, causing yourself easily avoidable problems. Do you want to take that project your boss is offering but you aren’t sure you can handle it? Go for it if your gut is pushing you in that direction. Everything in life is a learning experience. Learn from your mistakes. Don’t dwell over them.

Don’t Listen To The Haters

No matter who you are, what you do, where you live; there are going to be people who don’t like you. Most the time they aren’t even going to have a good reason for it. There are people who are going to become angry at your success and take out their jealousy on you in the form of anger. Do you best to avoid such people. All they do is hold you back from your full potential. Tell yourself over and over if you have to, that you are not what they say you are.

Recognize Your Accomplishments

So many of us go on living day to day, without looking back and really enjoying the view. See all those things you’ve accomplished? Be proud of them. It doesn’t matter how small something may seem, it’s important to celebrate the small victories just as much as the big ones. You’re awesome and you know it. Look at everything you’ve done!

Learn To Accept A Compliment

What do you do when someone gives you a compliment? Do you brush it off and get embarrassed? While this may seem like an innocent way to do, it’s not. You need to recognize the things people like about you and realize that you are all of those things. People aren’t just making them up.

Surround Yourself By Good People

You know what happens to people who are around negative, insecure people? They become negative, insecure people. If you want to boost your confidence, hang out with people who really put themselves out there and are proud of who they are, what they do and know what they want out of life. The people around you; whether friends or family are meant to boost you up, not push you down. When people are positive and speak their mind, you are going to become more accustomed to that behavior and it will soon become second nature to you.

Do What Makes You Happy

If you aren’t happy with your life, your confidence is going to be lacking. Need a boost in confidence? Why not take life by the horns and fix things one step at a time. Don’t like your job? Find something better; something that makes you feel accomplished and unique. Pick a job that really shows off your personality and your good traits. The more you are able to be yourself and be happy in what you do, expressing yourself will become much easier.

Be Social

Nothing is worse for you than spending all of your time in your house; when your friends call, you make up some sort of story as to why you can’t make it this time. If you find yourself avoiding your friends, it’s time for a change. You may not think it matters all that much but getting out there, having some fun and spending time with people you care about is important. Everyone needs time to vent and really get all the stresses of life off your chest. If all you do is work you are going to become pretty depressed, and while you may be going through the motions of life; you aren’t going to be truly living. Living is being happy and being happy is being confident.

Go Outside Your Comfort Zone

The most important and probably the most difficult way to boost your confidence is to push yourself. Do those things that make you uncomfortable and make you feel like running away. This is the best way to get to know yourself. Follow your heart and do what you know is best. Never avoid if you can prevent it. Take life head on and your confidence is going to greatly increase.

When it comes down to it, how you do these steps doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you get them done. It may take you months, it may take you years but once you get to that confident point in your life, you are going to feel much better.

10 Simple and Working Ways To Lose Weight - Polish Yourself

With all the pressure from society these days to stay fit and look “perfect”, it can be really overwhelming. It seems like all the celebs can lose weight at the drop of a hat. So, why can’t the rest of us? Here are 10 tips that will help get you in the right direction. Remember, it’s not about how quickly you complete the steps; it’s about the quality that you accomplish them and Yes, you will not only look beautiful but will also feel beautiful and satisfied once you are continually following these simple steps on regular basis.

Reduce Your Fat Intake

Of course, one of the first and foremost things you should focus on is your fat intake. Too much fat is terrible for your body. You don’t have to get obsessive over it, but just make a conscious effort. If you need to, begin cutting back slowly. You aren’t in a race, you are doing this for yourself and that’s all that matters. This can be very difficult because of the way the media displays what it means to be “beautiful” when in reality beauty cannot be defined. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.

Watch Your Calories

This is a step a lot of people have trouble with. So many people become completely obsessed and they begin counting calories as they eat anything. While this may work for some, I have never seen it work personally. Going from not counting, to counting is a big change and it makes the entire experience much more intimidating. You want to take this slow because if you stress yourself out and put too much pressure on yourself, you are more likely to fail.

Switch To Sweetener

Something as simple as cutting back on sugar does wonders for your body. All of that sugar is so bad for you and builds up quickly overtime; causing excess weight. The great thing about sweeteners today is many of them come completely calorie free and they taste very similar to sugar. Many people use them on a regular basis and said they can’t even tell the difference anymore. Equal is one that many people seem to gravitate towards.

Avoid Sweets When You Can

Don’t lie, we’ve all done it; you’re watching your weight, working out and really doing a great job then suddenly you see that cake. While you stare at it you feel guilty because you don’t want to ruin everything you’ve been working towards but at the same time you feel you deserve it. This is a battle you are never going to win if you keep tackling it that way. Approach the situation differently; instead of making yourself feel like you can’t ever have desert again in your life, just cut back. Feeling like eating a huge piece of that brownie your mother brought over? Whatever you’re picturing eating in your mind, cut in half. You’ll be surprised that once you eat that smaller piece you are just as satisfied because you got rid of the craving and you don’t have that feeling of guilt. It’s a win-win!

Switch Up Your Favorite Drinks

This world is so dependent on coffee, but a lot of our favorite drinks are horrible for our bodies. You pretty much don’t even want to know how much sugar, how many calories and other things are put into them. One great option for you would be to ask for sugar free or use Soy Milk instead of regular. Some coffee shops can even make you a coffee that’s light. If you feel that you could do better and want to try taking it a step further, why not switch to tea? There are some great teas that have no caffeine but give you an incredible amount of energy.

Take The Stairs Instead Of The Elevator

When you’re out and about; checking the mail, going to the bank or going grocery shopping; there are various things you can do to get more of a work out along the way. Why take the elevator when you can take the stairs? On your way out to get your mail? Why not walk past your mailbox, and go around the block before coming back to bring your mail inside? There are a lot of things you can do that won’t feel like exercise.

Never “Work Out”

Another way a lot of people set themselves up for failure is by using the words “work out” or “exercise”. Typically our brains register this as a negative thing. Come up with new ways to stay fit without having to work for it. If you like to dance, that’s a great way to burn some calories and have fun at the same time.

Join Some Sort Of Club

If you find you are having a tough time sticking to your plan; you can always join a club. When around other people, you are more likely to succeed because you are going to be much more motivated. Working out alone isn’t very fun.

Set Specific Goals

Still feeling like this just isn’t working for you? Sit down and think about your goals for the future. What is your motivation in wanting to lose some weight? Are you doing it for yourself, your children? Find your motivation and from there begin coming up with specific goals. Start small in the beginning so you can easily accomplish the goals. Each time you accomplish one of your goals, you are going to become more likely to succeed in the long run. Setting goals that are too hard and take to long to meet is just going to discourage you.

Don’t Give Up

No matter what you do, do not give up. Even if you promised yourself you were going to work out every day and you haven’t gotten of the couch in a month; it’s not too late. Never beat yourself up over the little things. Treat each day as a new start. If you’re upset that you haven’t done much today, put everything down as you’re reading this and go for a walk or play on the Wii. It’s never too late.
